    Distinguishing Indistinguishabilities

Logic and Ontology from Quantum Particles to Processes

Synthese Library, vol. 546. Springer, Cham. Hardcover ISBN 978-3-032-37244-4.

A book-length statement of the account of quantum indistinguishability that Federico Holik, Décio Krause, and I have developed across a series of papers: what follows, logically and ontologically, if quantum particles are taken to have no identity at all. Quasi-set theory is used to make non-individuality precise, and the consequences are traced through contextuality and Kochen–Specker-type arguments.

    A True Polymath

a Tribute to Francisco Antonio Doria

Series of the Brazilian Academy of Philosophy, vol. 2. College Publications, Rickmansworth, UK.

A tribute to Francisco Antonio Doria — my doctoral advisor at the Brazilian Center for Research in Physics, and a collaborator since. Edited with Décio Krause for the series of the Brazilian Academy of Philosophy. Two of my chapters appear in it, on Bell’s inequalities and on information and the hard problem of consciousness.

    Quanta and Mind

Essays on the Connection Between Quantum Mechanics and Consciousness

Synthese Library, vol. 414. Springer, Cham.

Essays on the old and contested question of whether quantum mechanics bears on consciousness at all, and if so how. The question runs through much of my work with Carlos Montemayor; our own contribution to the volume is the chapter Where does quanta meet mind?

    Quantum Interaction

10th International Conference, QI 2016, San Francisco, CA, USA, July 20–22, 2016, Revised Selected Papers

Lecture Notes in Computer Science, vol. 10106. Springer, Cham.

The revised selected papers from the tenth Quantum Interaction conference, held in San Francisco in July 2016. The series brings the mathematics of quantum theory to bear on problems outside physics — cognition, decision, and information. Two chapters of mine are in the volume, on contextuality in integrated information theory and on whether stress is quantum-like.
